DART ‘s unique conservation and research works , set in the vastness of the Hwange National Park, are funded through our Volunteer, or Field Assistant, Program. This is where conservation minded persons are invited to join us in our field work, and put their hands and skills together to assist us in our efforts.

The value of  the Volunteer Program to DART’s efforts are threefold – firstly, the financial contributions allow us to be in the field. Secondly, the presence, enthusiasm and work efforts of the volunteers allow us to achieve the goals we have set, and are an inspiration to the National Parks rangers working with us. Thirdly, we rely on the volunteers to be our international ambassador to further the cause of wildlife conservation in Zimbabwe.

By the end of YOUR expedition, you will have a far greater understanding of the wilderness that is Hwange, coupled with the deep satisfaction that YOUR efforts have made a difference in the battle of survival for the wildlife of Zimbabwe.

DART’s Volunteer Program offers YOU the unusual opportunity to get behind the scenes of the real work being done in this wilderness – it is not a holiday tour, but part of a  hard working drive to discover more of the fascinating animals and birds in their natural habitat.  YOU may be sweeping the bush for snares, radio- tracking errant lions, helping revive a darted lion, tracking a rhino and her calf back from the watering hole, camping it rough under the myriad stars after a tough day of tracking, sitting in the moonlight counting a hundred elephant come to drink. The real Africa will be opened up to YOU!
